JEE - Joint Entrance Examination Main

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech) in NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across India. It also serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to IITs.

JEE Main is conducted twice a year in January and April, giving students two chances to improve their scores. The exam consists of two papers:

  • Paper 1: For B.E./B.Tech admissions (Computer-Based Test)
  • Paper 2: For B.Arch (Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing test) and B.Planning (Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning test)

The exam tests students in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, following the NCERT syllabus of Class 11 and 12. JEE Main scores are accepted by numerous engineering colleges across India. The exam has no age limit, but candidates must meet the required educational qualifications.

Candidates can attempt the exam in multiple languages and must register online through the official NTA JEE website. The ranking in JEE Main is based on normalized scores considering both attempts (if taken twice).
